Cycle tour in North Holland

Day 1 Arrival in Alkmaar
The national beer museum and the cheese market on Friday mornings are the town's main attractions.

Day 2 Alkmaar - Hoorn, approx. 48 km/30 mi
You’ll cycle through a former moor with many windmills, before reaching the once influential harbour town of Hoorn.

Day 3 Hoorn - Medemblik, approx. 49 km/31 mi
The tour leads you along the shores of the Ijsselmeer, through the charming town of Enkhuizen and to Medemblik with the impressive Radboud Castle.

Day 4 Medemblik - Den Helder, approx. 59-66 km/37-41 mi
Today you’ll cycle through the Wieringermeer polder landscape. The region south of Den Helder is a centre of tulip bulb production.

Day 5 Excursion to Texel Island
Visiting the island starts with a ferry ride. There are rewarding hiking and biking tours, or enjoy a leisurely beach day.

Day 6 Den Helder - Alkmaar, approx. 61 km/38 mi
The tour continues along dunes and dykes, and you’ll find yourself on North Sea beaches again and again. The sea aquarium in Bergen aan Zee is worth a visit.

Day 7 Departure or extension
