The province of Zeeland is located in the southwest of the Netherlands on the Belgian border and consists of a large number of islands and peninsulas on the North Sea coast. Since Roman times, the landscape has changed continuously due to severe storm surges, and the mighty Delta Works storm barriers were built in the 1960s to protect against the sea. Today the province is easily accessed by bridges. It’s a popular holiday destination due to its dune and polder landscapes and its rich trading history. A cycling holiday in Zeeland is suitable even for inexperienced cyclists.
